Michigan Chair Company Style Bookstand / Magazine Stand. Original Finish.
Michigan Chair Company Style Bookstand / Magazine Stand. Original Finish. A dark stand with circular cut-outs on the sides and interesting cut-outs near the top for handles. It's very similar to work from the Michigan Chair Company with it's v-groove or chamfered construction on the sides and the shape of the decorative tacks which resemble the beveled exposed dowel ends they used. Features an arched apron in the front. I can't quite determine the wood of which it is made. It is very fine grained and similar to Mahogany yet appears more like Poplar. It is not oak and not a wood typically used during the period. The overall design is pleasing and it is very useful without requiring a large footprint. Measures approximately: 36" high x 17" wide x 12 1/2" deep.
